How Lunchroom Font Transformed My Campaign Visuals
I was deep into prepping a product launch for a boutique skincare brand, and the visuals were feeling flat. The client wanted something fresh, approachable, and full of personality. I had just finished designing the main hero image when I realized the text wasn’t cutting through the imagery like it should. That’s when I decided to switch up the font—Lunchroom came in like a breath of spring air.
Lunchroom is a script font with a playful, whimsical feel. Each letter seems to dance along the baseline, giving off a sense of charm and warmth. It's not overly ornate, but it carries enough character to stand out without overshadowing the message. It works perfectly for brands that want to feel friendly, creative, and a bit unconventional.
As I began applying Lunchroom to my campaign assets, I noticed how it elevated everything from social media posts to email banners. For the Instagram teaser post, I used Lunchroom for the headline: “Introducing Our New Glow Serum.” The font added just the right amount of visual interest, making the message feel more inviting and personal.
On Pinterest, where visual hierarchy is key, I paired Lunchroom with a clean sans serif font for the supporting text. This combination helped balance the design while keeping the focus on the product. The playful script caught attention, while the sans serif ensured readability across different screen sizes.
When designing YouTube thumbnails for the product demo video, I tested a few fonts before settling on Lunchroom. It worked well as a decorative title, adding a touch of elegance without being too flashy. The letters flowed naturally, which helped keep the thumbnail engaging even in fast-scrolling feeds.
I also used Lunchroom for the webinar promotion banner. The headline “Join Us for an Exclusive Skincare Workshop” needed to feel exciting yet trustworthy. Lunchroom brought the right energy, making the event sound both fun and informative. The font’s soft curves gave the impression of a warm, in-person experience, which aligned perfectly with the brand’s voice.
One thing I learned quickly is that Lunchroom shines best in short headlines, callouts, and decorative titles. It adds flair without distracting from the core message. When used for longer blocks of text, I found it less readable, so I reserved it for display purposes only.
For mobile optimization, I made sure the font size was large enough to be legible on smaller screens. I also tested it against dark and light backgrounds to ensure good contrast. Lunchroom performed well on both, though I slightly adjusted the color for better visibility on darker tones.
Font pairing was another consideration. I experimented with a few combinations before settling on Lunchroom and a modern sans serif like Montserrat. The contrast between the two fonts created a nice visual rhythm, allowing the script to act as a focal point while the sans serif handled the supporting details.
Before finalizing the campaign, I double-checked the font’s features. Lunchroom included several alternates and ligatures, which added subtle variations to the text and kept the design from feeling repetitive. The file formats were comprehensive, and the commercial license allowed me to use it across all the campaign assets without any issues.
Using Lunchroom didn’t just make the visuals look better—it helped clarify the message. The font’s playful tone reinforced the brand’s personality, making the campaign feel more authentic and relatable. It also contributed to stronger brand recognition, especially in a crowded market where standing out is crucial.
Whether you're launching a new product, promoting a seasonal sale, or building a content series, Lunchroom can be a valuable asset in your design toolkit. Its versatility makes it suitable for a wide range of applications—from social media graphics to website banners and email headers.
As I wrapped up the campaign, I couldn’t help but notice how much impact a single font choice could have. Lunchroom didn’t just add style; it enhanced clarity, strengthened the message, and helped create a cohesive visual identity. It reminded me why choosing the right typography is one of the most strategic decisions in any design project.
